search Engine Optimisation Tips?

Navigation

Ensure that your website have html navigation throughout. All pages should interlink, however, if this is not possible create a site map.

Home Page

A website home/index page should always contain text and this text should contain your target keyword phrases.

Titles

<title></title> tags should contain your most important keywords.

Meta Tags

The 'description' and 'keyword' meta tags should also contain your target keyword phrases but don't repeat them.

Alt Tags

Give your important images, ie; logo, pictures, navigation graphics a short description.

Keyword Text

Ensure that keyword rich text is throughout the website. Be careful not to overdo it, however, as this could be picked up as Spam and give your site a lower ranking instead of higher!

search Engine Submissions

Stay clear of submission software and services. There is no need to submit your website to hundreds or thousands of search engines. The top 10 search engines and directories get over 90% of search traffic. Use our lists of major search engines and directories to submit your website manually.

Link Building

search the web for websites which compliment yours and write them a polite email suggesting/requesting a link exchange. Do not join web rings or link farms.

The foregoing is very brief but to the point. Should you like more detailed information on any aspect of SEO please see our SEO Resources section.
